Compare and Contrast the similarites and differences between huge blockbuster fantasy films, and small independent fantasy films.
I will be using some world cinema films, and some western cinema films. These include:
The Devils Backbon
Pans Labyrinth
Lord of the rings - The two towers
Pirates of the Carribean - Curse of the Black Pearl
Bridge to Terabithia
This selection of films will allow me to easily compare and contrast an extremly wide range of films, including huge blockbusters, and small independent films from around the world.
Things i will be using to compare and contrast:
*Story lines - If they are simple or complex depending on the target audience
*Gross profit - To determine which films made the most money, and were the made there money. This will help me conclude when talking about the Block Buster films.
*I will also provide a brief textual analysis of each film
*Implicit and Explicit messages portrayed, and what they are aimed at. This should show some clear differences between blockbuster and independent films. Or it could portray similarites.
