Critic views on blockbusters and independent films

I looked and compared interviews with Del Toro (directed pans labyrinth and devils backbone) and Peter jackson (lord of the rings)

I was looking for the critics view's in regards to the budgets they used, i noticed that in the interview with Del Toro there was much more focus on talking about the factor of money, and how he had to work around this, including giving up his own salary to finish pans labyrinth. Whilst in the Peter Jackson interview, there was talkings about his new house with two huge viewing rooms and a recording room what floats in the middle of the house, there was no talk about his budget in films, suggesting that he has to much money to have to stick within a small budget which all independent films have to.
